IF I WERE KING

I say that from time to time when I see things that, to me, are obvious and that all should see and agree with me.  For a while - as long as we have members of the house apologizing to BP and politicians making references to 2nd amendment remedies - you are just going to read some of my day to day observations.

day 169 of the year 2010
I'll set this up more like Britain, where even though elected officials deal with the day to day things, the ruling party does so at the request of the Queen.

So, order 1 of day 169 - politicians caught lying about what they have done or said, will be fined and/or jailed for a period determined by the gravity and exaggeration of the lie.

order 2 of day 169 - all laws apply equally to all citizens

order 3 of day 169 - the criminal or perp of a crime or accident, don't get to make up the rules or determine what their punishment should be

order 4 of day 169 - there is now a cable channel for each level of political office - city, county, state, country.  this channel is for citizens interested in the issues of political elections to search candidates opinions and platforms.  No political advertising will be done on any other channels.

order 5 of day 169 - BP would answer what they consider legitimate claims and non-legitimate claims would be in detail.

Out of Control

I guess now is the time for all good Americans to come to the aid of their country by getting out of control.  Stand up and do something.  The next time you hear some fool comment about a poster picturing 'Dubya' that reads - Miss me yet?, and is in some kind of agreement, stand up and tell them what you really think.  Lean out your windows and scream at the top of your voice that you are indeed 'Mad as hell and you aren't going to take it any more'.  And by all means, when some poor fool that thinks the 'Republican Party' gives a rats ass about the little guy, have them show you what the GOP has ever really done for them - raided their retirement funds?  took their 401K and cut them in half?  allowed the oil companies to block high mileage engines and alternative fuels, destroy the wetlands and drill baby drill in the deep and open waters of our shorelines?  moved our production jobs out of the country for the sake of making an extra buck?  Okay, so you think the liberals are giving our country away - those damn Democrats - well, I don't know that I could disagree with that entirely either..... what have all these 'career' politicians done for any of us really?  The people have given way to the corporations and the pursuit of the almighty dollar......one of the lines of the 'tea party' (one of the few that I can get behind) is vote all of them out..  If they have been in office more than two terms for a representative or 1 term for a senator, and they have not voted to help the American public, then its time for them to go.  So whenever you get mad about the government, go look in the mirror.  You are the culprit, along with every other person that thinks the government is giving them a good old fashioned screwing.  Instead of getting mad, go vote.  But don't just vote.  Get everyone you know upset enough about something to go vote.  As long as our government officials are getting elected by 40-50% of the people that are able to vote, they are going to follow the money instead of doing the right thing.  Conservatives are fools or liars.  If they really wanted smaller government and balanced budgets, they would have already done it...... open your eyes.  They just want the power and the money.  To write about my contempt for people like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh would be a futile attempt, because I wouldn't be able to stop.  Fear and hate mongers spreading untruths or half truths.....and taking money for it....pitiful.  I would hate to have to pay their piper.

politics out of control

Have the two major party leaders lost their minds?  We need another party to come into power - make it a 3 party system.... its obvious that if there is just two, one or the other thinks they have the right answer.... neither of them do.   The 'christian' right Republican base is neither Christian or right.  I am not sure the liberal left has it that much more correct.  We have far too many fronts to work on without taking so much time and airspace to debate the health bill any longer...... if there are things wrong with it, work together and get it fixed.  If you can't work together and come to a compromise, then do the country a favor and quit and let someone who will take your place.  The ultra side of either issue needs to leave the decision to the moderates with some common sense.
The last three presidential elections have really been too close to say that the vast majority of the American population is for or against one of the parties.  I think they all need a big dose of reality.  The truth is that a simple majority is all it takes to make laws - good or bad. And the people who took the time to vote but the candidate(s) they voted for didn't win have to wait until the next election to have a small voice once again.  I think this is something that needs to change.  You can't believe the politicians in office, because they live in insulated bubbles...... It's time to change.  e.g. - the health vote.... our rep here in Central Texas is Chet Edwards.  He claims that the majority of his constituents were against the health bill, and wanted him to vote no............. seriously????????????? I didn't talk to one of those people.  Everyone I talked to wants-wanted Congress to do something to change the stranglehold the insurance/health industry has over us.....  Republicans are chanting that 'big' government should stay out of something that is 1/6th of US business........16.66% of the money made in the US is to keep our citizens healthy???????????  What are they smoking?  Though I consider myself a moderate independent, I find it ludicrous to think that one of the two major political parties think that the health of the populace should be a 'business' let alone one of the largest businesses in the country.......

Okay, so its not what the liberals wanted, and it certainly isn't what the Republican party wanted and its not what a lot of Dems wanted........... but what does it do for you?

For me, I think its an incredible day to be alive and  be an American!

For all the politicians who say its not a good bill.... its a really bad bill and should be repealed.  We have better ideas; we should slow it down and take it a small part at  a time..  MY QUESTION IS:::::::::::
WHAT THE H... HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING FOR????????????????????????????

If you have been in office and haven't done anything to better the people of this Great Country, then its time for you to leave...................... John Boehner had it right - you should all be ashamed of yourselves and what I would add is "tuck your tails and leave in shame"..... I think its time for independent thinkers to get involved and let our 'two party' system understand that they have all been doing it wrong.
